OMG! 2x18 Olicity is back baby!
This episode highlighted why Felicity is perfect for Oliver. She challenges him as we saw in the first scene, about him having to be CEO.She’s his partner when she spends hours looking for Slade thru thousands of car photos and when she tries to stand up for him to Roy or at least tries to. Then she understands him better than anyone when she knows he needs to go find Slade alone. And then she’s his rock, along side Diggle when he needs someone as he feels like he’s all alone. All this ep did is show that they belong together. It might take awhile but Oliver will realize this and will give in to what he feels for her. because nothing convinces me that he’s in wuv with Sara. I mean Stephen & Caity try but it falls flat because like Katie and him they have no romantic chemistry. I can’t buy their “wuv” and I certainty don’t feel it.
Definitely one of the best Arrow episodes, not only in terms of Olicity but with the characters and all around action & drama.

Okay, I’ve got to talk a little about Felicity, and Oliver and Felicity, in this episode.
First off, Oliver’s been neglecting the company. Not a huge surprise. Felicity is, as ever, devoted to her work, whatever it may be, so she keeps up on his calls, his meeting, his appointments. I can’t imagine that’s been easy, because Oliver probably doesn’t want to even hear about the company with Slade out there. But Felicity makes sure he goes where he needs to- to keep up appearances, to keep the company running, and also, I think, to keep him grounded. If she let him, he’d be shaking down every criminal in Starling City for leads, or shut up in the foundry letting his anger and fear suffocate him. He needs to do other things, think about other things.
Then with Roy. That had to be a scary situation for her to be in. Roy is famously a hot head, and with the mirakuru, he is also extremely dangerous. She doesn’t have a way to defend herself against him, and you can see her jump back and step away when he snaps. But she she still speaks up, tries to reason with him. And it worked, even if for just a second. She got through to him.
Felicity being the one to tell Oliver to go was really important, I think. It shows how far she’s come since she joined the team, and how, for better or worse, her outlook on what they do has shifted. “Do whatever it takes.” She knows he’s going to have to kill him, and she’s accepted that. This isn’t some 1 percenter who’s in a notebook, this is a villain who is trying to destroy Oliver, and wouldn’t hesitate to kill any one of them if it suited his needs. Sara and John want a plan, want to be there for backup, but Felicity can see Oliver unraveling. He’s fraying at the edges, and she knows he needs to go- to find his sister. So she tells him to go. She tells him, in that moment, that it’s okay, that she trusts him, that he can do it.
The end scene with Felicity, John, and Oliver was really great. Felicity tells him he can stop Slade, even though he doesn’t believe he can. Oliver’s voice is small and broken when he asks her why she’s so sure. Like he can’t understand why she still believes in him, what makes her believe in him, when in his minds all he seems to do it destroy everything and everyone in his life.
Felicity knows Oliver. She knows the man he is now, since the island. She’s seen the mistakes, been on the end of his short temper and poor decision making, but she knows that he’s more than that. He’s a hero, and she’ll stand by him because he needs her too. Because he doesn’t see that she sees, and he needs someone to remind him of who he is and who he can be.

And this is why Felicity is so important ...
… to Oliver — and his evolution into a hero. Here’s the person who has absolute faith in him, who believes in him, who doesn’t blame him, who doesn’t judge him. She tells him “Do whatever it takes.” If you have to break your vow of not killing, so be it. It won’t make you any less a hero.
I love how her voice is soft but strong when she first says “Go.” Oliver responds to that tone of hers. He immediately stops. He does the same thing in a scene with her and Digg in “Tremors,” another scene I absolutely love. You can see the emotions cross Oliver’s face as Felicity speaks — the anger, frustration dissolve into resolve. Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards once again prove how powerful they — and Oliver and Felicity — are together.
Although... now the show is on hiatus (like all the other shows, why do they do this?!) and I really hate that. Especially when you see the trailer for 2x19 The Man Under The Hood... OMG!
